Process Explorer - Enhanced Task Manager for Windows Servers

Mental note to self…..

There is a  free tool, called Process Explorer, for Windows servers that provides enhanced monitoring of processes that are running on the servers.  Much better than the standard windows taskman or perfmon.

    I use PE a LOT to determine what has a lock on an individual file. It maintains one of the few icon places on my desktop. It runs on clients as well as the server. Anything created by sysinternals is great. they got acquired by MS around 18 mos ago.
